Vladimir Zadorozhny presents “Information Fusion at large and at Scale”
Information fusion deals with reconstructing objects from multiple, possibly incomplete and inconsistent observations. The task of scalable information fusion is critical for interdisciplinary research where a comprehensive picture of the subject requires large amounts of data from disparate data sources. Despite its increasing availability, making sense of such data is not trivial. In this talk I will elaborate on challenges in developing an infrastructure that facilitates scalable information integration and fusion. 3rd floor IS Building, Quiet Study Room, 135 N Bellefield Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, USA
Fri Apr 22nd 3.00pm – 4.30pm
Cybersecurity Seminar Series presents “The Importance of Measurement and Decision Making to a Science of Security”
Adaptive defenses alter the environment in response to adversarial action and perceived threats. Such defenses are a specific example of a broader class of management techniques called system agility. In its fullest generality, a science of agility is based on a reasoned modification to a system or environment in response to a functional, performance, or security needs. This talk highlights the activities surrounding the investigation of this science within the recently launched Cyber-Security Collaborative Research Alliance. IS Building, 3rd Floor Theatre, 135 North Bellefield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260, USA
